Allg SS officers Belt

Gentlemen,

Wasn't quite sure if i should post this one here, or over at the Buckle (?) forum, but i thought i would give it a shot here.

I don't normally collect stuff like this, but this one came in a trade from a pretty good SS source, so i assume it to be original. But would love to hear your thoughts on it before i move it.

There are fakes of this belt but this is not one of them. A very nice original belt for wear with the black uniform. One of these makes a black tunic sparkle in display. A nice add to your collection

I had a fake one with black backing in the mid 70's and in a lot of ways it was nicer than some originals I have owned.

I've got both the Algemine u. Waffen SS belts - black u. green backing.

In the interest of accuracy, the green or black backing obn the belt reflected the uniform being worn, not the branch of the SS. As we all know, the black uniform was the dress uniform of all branches of the SS, not just the Allgemeine SS. The gray uniform could also be worn by members of the Allgemeine SS or any other branch besides the Waffen SS as a day to day service uniform. This would apply in most cases with higher ranks as the majority of the Allgemeine SS were not employed on a day to day in the SS.
