Re: Allgemeine SS CAP............
You are right about there being so many fakes these days, but if you were taken in
by a fantasy key fob for $50, you should learn all you can before you make
any more mistakes - which could be very costly.
I believe if this black SS cap were genuine, it should be selling for $8,000
to $12,000. ( Correct me if I'm wrong guys ! ) anyway - expensive !
Are you in the Toronto area ? There is a militaria show Saturday
November 12th at the Markham Fairgrounds, on McCowan
road, just north of T.O.

It is selling for $7100.00 ...
and yes I was taken in on a $50 item. Good thing is a refund will be easy.
As for the show .. yes I'm planning on going. I missed the last one.

[QUOTE=Datrus;397311.....And Walkwolf about the Sax. It looks strange.[/QUOTE]
The Luftwaffe saxophone is a good period piece, I believe, - but will likely
be overpriced because of it's Third Reich association.........

Yes.. as I said I will always post pics here prior to a big purchase. My first SA dagger had a plastic handle... when I asked the dealer why it was plastic he said .. noooooo thats bakelite lol ... He gave me a full refund or I would have used that Dagger on him!! that was my first big lesson... that week I bought my first actual dagger from lakeside (big difference).

Re: Allgemeine SS CAP............
Some unscrupulous dealers can be pretty shifty - and they hope you have
little or no knowledge of these things - and they'll say almost
anything to make a sale.........

I will purchase books on my subjects of interest.... the reason I post pics of all the things I see (or want to buy) is to get feedback... and to make the forum interesting... I posted SS Julleuchter candle holder.. not to get them authenticated ... just because I thought they were different...(not something I would EVER buy) and I wanted to hear feedback.. I ended up finding out they have a wikipedia page.
My point is ... if I see something of interest now or in the future ..I will post pics and ask questions... that's what keeps a forum like this interesting...
As for the Sax... I'd like to have it in my collection.. the price is way out of line ... but I'd thought I would show all of you.
Im not a dealer or a seller... NOT EVEN CLOSE. If posting pics of different things is wrong.... I guess I joined the wrong forum.

Re: Allgemeine SS CAP............
Lowboy,The members reaction is to let you know about the piece in question and stay away from the shop, flea market, etc. that is selling this material.I was once in your shoes and it is painful at times. The members are not putting you down, but they are making you aware that not all dealers are kosher as they say.I suggest you buy [$5] from 'REDDICK MILITARY' IN Texas their latest catalog. You will see the many hats that they sell and of course they are all reproductions.Their # IS 1-800-786-6210 or 1-903-786-2287 Its a good catalog to have to show the meriad of stuff thats being made as we chat.Good Luck.Carl
