It is not mine, though I would well buy it if I had the chance. Dr. Boehmer of Wiesbaden, yet another of the highly educated who streamed into the SS, but who made his shoulder board out of collar cord...or his tailor, did...
Do also down load the picture of the cuff title, as it is very rare. This is a 1934-1935 uniform of very nice quality.

We are all very blessed with Andreas' skill as a linguist in combination with your wonderful decades of research and your marvelous files.

We should all write a book. Or someone should take all these posts and make a book out of it.....

These are not mine. I already have ones like this, but always take pleasure in real things versus the common fake
and the idiot threads that suffocate with them.

In perusing the thread I just noticed the comment the lack of a cavalry diamond on the picture of the contestant from the Hauptreitschule Muenchen posted by Wim in post 54. That is the correct configuration. In 1935 the wearing of a specialist diamond was discontinued if the specialist insignia was worn on the collar patch. Unfortunately the collar patch of the other rider is not visible.

Thanks for the additional information. As the Hauptreitschule was only founded in 1937, the absence of the sleeve diamond is instantly explained.

I wonder when the other photo (of that gentleman with what may well be horse drool on his shoulder) was taken.
The wearing of the other ranks' white collar patch piping, the cuff title's "handwritten-style" script and the wear of the early Deutsches Reiter- und Fahrer-Abzeichen (which was only awarded from 1926 to 1929 and replaced by the separate riders' and drivers' badges in 1930) would tempt me to date it to no later than 1934... were it not for the pattern of his cap eagle, which surely came about only in 1936.

Thanks. Then I am doubly pleased that the rhombus endures on this Montur upon which I stumbled a couple of years ago.

Thank you for all your fine research and careful erudition.
