I hesitate to unleash so much activity, but since one of you has been posting so many images of caps in the hands of benighted collectors and this stinker failed notice, I felt enjoined to write something. The horrible RZM tag seized my spirit.
I am sorry to be so critical, as I am disinclined to make the hunt for fakes my reason for being here.
This case, however, is pretty appalling.

I have to say F-B that without your input I would have dismissed this cap as yet another copy, without another glance.

However when you take another look at the Tk on it it does look as of it came out of the Leib Husaren handbook and it is such a shame that it is not in better condition.
The first cap I ever got from a school friend (for free) was a Heer crusher which was white piped but with a very blue/green central band.
Even after 70 plus years these things have a panache of their very own.

The RZM tag that should be in early and or earliest black SS officer's caps. At least my data suggests thus.
