I found the old thread on WAF. Here is the marking on the Schuma tunic.
The picture is quite small and appears to be stampted "VA" which seals the deal as to what it was in a previous life.

And such stamps are found on Allgemeine SS tunics, as they are found on SSVT tunics, and, I imagine, on SSTV items, too.
VA= Verwaltungsamt SS.

Black SS tunic it is, and that is how it was called at the time.....or SS Dienstrock or Rock SS, schwarz.....

I own SSVT black tunics with the VA stamp and Allgemeine SS tunics with the stamp, too. My sole SSTV tunic is tailor made and unmarked, as is frequently the case with extra Roecke as these survive.
The VA stamped tunic is the issued one.
I do recall the converted black uniform found in its war time role for the Schutzmannschaften.
