Article about: Dear Colleague, in contrast, here is an Austrian Allgemeine SS man, but I think of a higher echelon of command. I think colleague d'alquen originally furnished us this image. My wild guess i
My first post. I do not have photos of a feldgrau SS, Allgemeine style tunic in wear but I do have a feldgrau tunic with this cuff title. Here is a photo of the cuff title. The tunic belonged to a senior NCO on Himmler's staff.
I do hope that our distinguished fellow members will comment on the RFSS cuff title above. I am not sufficiently expert in this particular insignia, but I know others here who surely are.
Thanks for the further image.
While in Austria, I saw a photo album of the Allgem. SS unit in Krems/Donau, which I believe was Sta. 53. The full time officers of same (a couple of men...) were seen in wartime images of convalescent Waffen SS men on a Donau cruise.

Please start a new tread on your uniform as I am sure we all would like to see it. As it is a gray uniform, it is very interesting but not relevant to this thread.

This is off the WAF, and the poster has his Kripo disc and ID card.
Pic is dated 1942--note the EK ribbon. Note the wear of the M-36 Dagger, and the piped SD Raute:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
This was posted on the WAF--an SS RKT wearing the black uniform. Supposedly, this is a still from a newsreel. However, the it appears to be a marriage ceremony, and the girl is almost too attractive--perhaps it is from a postwar movie? Anyone have any info on this?
Note he is not wearing an EK1, and has no combat decorations on his tunic....
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Thanks to the color version of the photograph turning up and the miracles of the "Tineye.com" reverse image search I managed to identify the movie: It's a Czech film called "Pramen života" / "Lebensborn".
