My response to Bruce the frog's nice item. You will note the lack of a rhombus. It is a wonderfully made tailored piece, without many marks, but quite pleasing all the same.
Yes, very nice , very nice indeed.
thanks

This was sold by Peter Jenkins a while back. It is not my property, either.
Images from the middle 1960s of a piece that is today in a leading collection. Not mine, mind you.
Another SSVT, that is LAH uniform. On the other site there are complaints that the lord of the flies locale has petered out as regards interesting SS regalia. You cannot say such about our site, now?

On the photo shown of the said shoulder board it has, from a military perspective, either the grass green piping of a Shutzen or the light green piping of a Jager. What was the significance of this or did it have an alternate interpretation as part of the SD? Were all of the military boards piped in this style?
The green piping actually signified SD. Waffenfarbe coloured piping did not follow the same pattern as in the Heer. For instance in the Waffen SS Pz Grenadiers wore white, not green.
Cheers, Ade.
