I don't want to create any division here but I agree with "carlsson1982" that the tab is original.

I have one which looks very similar which I have put down as a "Bullion" tab which has lost the coating to the wire and when viewed with a lens it does seem to be the same pattern.

Perhaps if the original poster was to provide a better close up picture a different outcome would result.

I have one like this as well, I believe mine and this one to be post war. The big thing with it is not only the feel of the fabric in your hand but the thickness of the fabric and the tab as a whole. I have one of the flat wire tabs as well but this is just an attempt at copying the cloth version of it. IMO.

I have a set of these and I know this is wartime also from where I had them together with other SS insignia (all originals of course).
It is a very rare pattern.
