Those are some fine examples to study FB. Delich has some of the most impressive pieces i have ever seen. As with your collection! When did Delich start his passion with collection fine SS examples? I had never seen a cuff title with a cross hair in it! It seems new books and volumes of SS pieces are warranted given the rare items showing up in this club. Its always a pleasure reading your posts FB! Take care friend

Delich started collecting in the 1950s, as did Bob Coleman and others. I started in the early 1960s.

    David Delich says:

    " There was
a lot more that I could have added, but readers can get
bored out of their skulls if they have to read too lengthy
    an article.
I have other colored bordered titles that I haven't shown,
but attempted to display only a few to show differences in
weave regarding the early manufactures, and the variations
of materials of which the borders were made. This goes
to prove that the "standard" 7 strand rule is out the
window. I also have aluminum-bordered titles with as
few as 5 strands in the border and others with as many as 10!
I will send these on soon, as soon as my current material
    is fully digested."

    Vielen Dank!

Once more, through your fine guidance may we explore such items in a pleasant and willing environment, versus the duck and cover malarkey that lies thick elsewhere in the digital paradise.

In all likelihood the cuff title 'N9' in post 4 has faded brown borders for signals, not yellow (which indicated equestrian units).
For the lover of minutiae it is also worth noting that the titles show examples from both of the numbering systems employed. For example, the red bordered '2' is prior to March 1934, whereas the three examples '9','10' and '11' with red borders are from after that date.

Hey FB what exactly is this? Looks like something to do with textiles, but i am stumped. I want to say hats but.... that is not my area of expertise.

I would not get bored with such a topic. I did not know of all the variations in early cuff titles. Bring em on! My brain is like a sponge and would devour new unique SS materials and pieces. Like I said earlier, new volumes could be written on these rare items. Full color pages and editorials. I would buy it.

There are several items in view here. One is an instrument to measure head size; the other is a wooden form for blocking of wet cap textiles, and or ironing
them in their crafting. I bought all of these, minus the buttons with the Hempe book.
