Hi Jay, it is a fake.

Note the reverse with the fluffy material used to back the embroidery. This is a modern method and not done on wartime originals.

Hi Ade, i've found a photo of a real 1 and there are a number of differences on the writing as well, especially the 's'. Many thanks, Jay
