Thank you to FB and to Mr Delich for showing these very rare patches.

There are a couple that I can't ever recall seeing before and would interested to know what they unit they were for, most especially the first one in the fifth row and the third one in the sixth row. I note also no. 5 of the fifth row - does that indicate that the Croatian Ustacha militia was incorporated into the Waffen SS?

    Regards, Philip

The first one in the fifth row is for the Intelligence Service [Efterretningstjenesten = ET] of the Schalburg-Korps and was also adopted by the Danish Auxiliary Police [Hilfspolizei = Hipo] raised in 1944.

The third one in the sixth row is for the 24. Waffen-Gebirgs (Karstjäger) Division der SS. It's a stylized Karstdistel flower. The patch is believed to have been manufactured, but not issued or, if issued, only worn to a very limited degree, with no period photographs of the patch in wear being known so far.

"....To reply to the person who asked about the Ustache
connection to the SS, I have provided this photo.
Photos of Croats wearing the "U" badges are rare, but
found one with caption. These aluminum "U" badges
were worn on caps, lapels, tabs -- all manner of badges
depending upon their connection to various organizations.
Here we see them being utilized on a cap, a lapel, on a
    collar, etc.
    David..."
