Re: Early Grey Service Cap with Runes

You're correct, it's actually in fine condition, much better than I could have hoped for.
Maybe you'd be so kind as to explain whether this cap could be SS-VT or TV, I'm never quite sure of the differences when it comes to uniforms.
I think it could be for anyone in the field grey uniform, which would been all branches, in fact, ca. 1938 or 1939 or 1940.....
We have to ask Mr. d'Alquen as to when this kind of cap was introduced, which Mollo says was 1939, but was likely earlier.....

The twin brother of the hat I now have.
Jawohl. I have some more images somewhere, but I am disorganized. You have done well.

I own this one, which has no runes, but is of the Einheitstuch cap cover....

I now know that 59 is the perfect size for me.
Does that mean I've got a big head?
Yes, Ben - but mine is much larger! :-)
Fantastic cap - good for you . . . you deserve a good catch!

Re: Early Grey Service Cap with Runes
I truly am thankful for the input..a hundred times rarer than the black specimen.
