And available through the Kleiderkasse? very interesting.

Such a cap would have been just the job when I owned my Triumph TR6 convertible!

I found an image of one. As I say, you can still buy them in central Europe in certain odd places I frequent, since my 12 step program to overcome headwear has failed badly. One also notes that the Kleiderkasse SS sold more types of these Autokappen than the field caps with peak about which everyone is so ga ga.

Ben you now own a wonderful cap, and also a nice regular peaked cap with the fiber visor, too. Please show it to us, too, but not to a fault nor so we can niggle about stitching.

I am happy that your collection is growing so nicely.

I took my spare dough and bought a Jahreswagen aus dem Schwabenlande (--laendele), which exhausted by discretionary ducats and precludes me from buying any more foetid woolens for a while. I do not miss it, either.

I dare not write the following, but the Kleiderkasse SS sold sleep wear, as well, which will give rise to a new species of fake as well as the pornographic dimension of our foetid textiles that has never appealed to me, at least. The items here do not jibe with the popular conception of these things after the fact....

Do you mean this one? I was very fortunate to get this one. It's very rarely that I find caps that I'm certain still retain the insignia that have always been there. Again, I don't wish to give the game away but certain environmental elements prove it.

Yes, and many thanks. A splendid piece. The insignia have just enough patina to bespeak their originality, but they are not cr@pped out like so many of the grey caps.

The later or war time pieces frequently have the Overhoff Totenschaedel, which might be because perhaps Deschler got pulverized in the air war?

Thanks for a wonderful nice piece and congratulations on your fine collection and your helpful presence here in an otherwise lords of the flies suffocated world.

I must admit however that the Kleiderkasse items, by their very nature, are a bit soleless, at least to me.

My favourite visor bar none. Not only a piped cap but made by my one of my most addmired makers, HPC. Those who worship eReL and the like are only fooling themselves. eReL made fine caps but they were the Audi of the era, HPC and Kaps etc were the Porsche and Mercedes.

Also a wonderful and pleasing piece. And it has piping that is un white!

You have a wonderful collection and best wishes.

I owned some Kaps pieces, and they are very nicely made objects. You should buy the artillery cap on the German site, it is a marvelous thing to add to your growing collection. I have not owned a Potthoff cap with its high tech ventilation. The Germans perspired more as they gathered up the subject peoples of Europe.

Oh can you point me in the right direction please? I'm a major fan of Kaps. Here's one of his creations. Velvet piping no less, Wonderbar!

You recall this cap. I cannot recall the site in Germany, but Bruce the Frog knows, since I egged him on to buy it, but he shied away from glory.

Your Army Pionier cap is also a wonderful thing, and the Samt piping (contrary to regulations...) is very handsome and interesting touch.

PS In fact, the site is described on the object itself.

    A marvelous piece, too.
