Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Very nice items!
Just allow me to say that the Wallonie shield and the right collar patch were ment for the Waloons, the French speaking part of Belgium!
Nothing to do with the Flemish, however there were Flemish boys who served in the Brigade Wallonie....

@ Ade: what is the value of such posters?
Kris.
Flemish skull and patch...
Hi Kris, today's value, I have no idea to be honest? I can tell you I paid £250 back in the very early 1990's, and I thought I got a good deal back then. I had it specialy framed.
The poster is pre 1943. It asks for recruits for both Standarte "Westland" and "Frw. Legion Flandern". All the Legions were disbanded in '43.
Hi Guys, some super items shown here.
Cheers, Ade.
Here is a little story a side concerning Frans Van Immerseel.
Last year I was called by a fellow antiques dealer to check a house that had to be cleared.
It was only 2 bloc's away from the house we lived in when I was a child....
The little villa had a huge stained glass window in front, signed Frans Van Immerseel!
It must have been hidden by plants at the time we lived there, cause I never noticed it.
Yes, I was in the house of Frans Van Immerseel, that was to be sold by the family.
Has the contence was not "untouched" I don't know what I missed, how ever it seemd to me ther wasn't much left that could remind of WWII...
The only piece of intrest to me was a clock. Not much to do with militaria, and clock's are not so popular anymore, but this clock will remain in my collection for a very long time.
cheers
