Re: Found This SS Uniform in an ATTIC!!
I can't comment on the authenticity of the uniform pieces you found, but I will tell you that the 2nd Infantry Div was not part of the first wave of the Operation Overlord (D-Day) Invasion. The first wave consisted of the: 1st, 4th, 29th, 90th Infantry Divisions and the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions.
The 2nd ID landed on D+1, June 7th 1944.
I hope the uniforms turn out to be legit! If so, stellar find!

Re: Found This SS Uniform in an ATTIC!!
Thanks for the info...I was just quoting him. His memories of was his dad told him was very choppy at best. His dad might have said the fist wave of 2nd Infantry guys. Who knows?? I could tell he was very proud of him either way and I wasn't going to pick apart what he was telling me. He could have cared less about the German items I found so I have no reason to doubt his story.
