Hi Guys, I came across this site while looking for something, as you do...
Anyway I thought it worth posting here for interest's sake.

Re: German Nobilty in the SS
One of the most interesting stories i have seen is that of SS Untersturmfuhrer Neven Du Mont who came from a very famous German family of Hugenots , he was disowned by the family for joining the Waffen SS and not the Army .
Neven du Mont became an Officer in 5 Kompanie SS Panzer Regt 5 Wiking and took part in the famous action of the Regt east of Warsaw in July 1944 where the Panther Abteilung destroyed 107 Russian tanks in one day . Sadly Neven du Mont was KIA shortly after when he was decapitated in the Commanders cupola of his Panther 501 !!
cheers
Paul

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Re: German Nobilty in the SS
Just noticed that Baron Günther Hubertus von Reibnitz is missing from the list. He is father to Princess Michael of Kent, minor member of our Royal family.
Cheers, Ade.

Cheers, Ade.
