    I imagine this could be a rather meticulous repair when done correct/accurately like this.

    Why yes, indeed, and I did not do it myself. I have the help of an old, old friend, who is a very gifted artisan.

    I had to find a suitable sweat band, which is not a very easy chore, either.

    Yes, this is why I posted this here.

    The cap is a classic of its type, in fact, but it is other than "untouched."

    So what...?

    Were I to sell it, I would, of course, tell the purchaser that I restored it.

    Very nice work, the m1/24 skull is also very well matching the eagle.

    No, the person who did this is an old friend of mine, who decades before Ben, grey SS officer's cap, before and after taught himself these crafts through much, much experience of German regalia in its variety.
