Truth be told, I actually prefer black SS caps, but to each his own. With the foregoing, I have also bought grey caps when they came my way, but the earlier caps are by far the more interesting to me in terms of their manufacture and also the signal traits of authenticity,

....but each collector is free to nourish his or her own preferences. My goal here, whereby I have received encouragement from the management if not always from certain other members, is to share real material especially for the younger set making their way amid the thicket of conflicting things and even more confused opinions.

Truth be told, SS black visors are much sharper in appearance than their gray brothers but gray caps are only caps that SS wore in combat and I only collect combat materials. I do only wish Pz.troops would had worn black visors..
