    The best advice I can give is to study the originals...Here's one being offered by Jesson's Relics for $435...

    The cotton model was worn on the brown shirt and is less commonly found than the standard wool band. The wool bands still command a higher price though. Here is another example for your study.

    In my experience, such as it is, linen was used for drill work jackets, summer uniforms and book binding, among certain noteworthy uses. Some cotton can well resemble linen, but I do not think that linen, per se, was used in arm bands. And, the RZM specifications lay all of this out pretty clearly, though they do not include precisely the SS.

    Thank you my friend for the kind comment. I certainly do not feel I am an expert as there is always something new to learn. I leave that term to others as for me, the title also brings a lot of unwanted baggage.
