Today as my middle aged employer, obviously undergoing a midlife crisis, arrived wearing one of those little skinny suits so popular amongst the hipsters, the phrase "last gasp regalia" came to mind and I chuckled to myself. Shortly after, his aging father arrived in one of his ill fitting musty suits and instantly thought of "Foetid woolens." FB thank you for providing a moment of levity in an otherwise bleak work day.
I have a lot of musty clothes of which I am very proud. I need a good tailor to fix them to accommodate my sagging being.

I see it more or less as Booth Tarkington and Orson Welles saw it.
However, my grand mother was born in 1893, and my parents in 1912 and 1920, respectively.
Maybe this fact is why the 1930s and 1940s bulk so large in my view of the world.....
