Indeed, my Romanian work colleagues hail from there - you should remove the "unfortunately" bit I think!

Metz 1944 SS assault wrap tunicMetz 1944 SS assault wrap tunicI have been to Romania a few times, have best friends in Romania, and am very fond of what I found there.
Romanians of the old school offered me a significant part of my education when I was a pup, and their example to me was always
    very significant.
I am a partisan of central Europe, or what others call "eastern Europe" in the modus of Bram Stoker.

In the Carpathians-- in Transylvania-- did I learn from my friends to drink Palinka, which I consider a great delicacy and a healthy adjunct to vitamins, fruits, vegetables, and the company of beautiful women.

I did not make it to the mouth of the Danube. I am a great partisan of those parts of Europe that got the short end of the stick in the 20th century, and who are again being shoved out of the city gates once more.
As an old man, the Iron Curtain was a very real thing, fearsome and tall, and its breaching a quarter of a century ago was the most important event in my life.
And I found my wife in Bratislava, Pressburg, Poszony, to say nothing of all the marvelous people elsewhere who are dear friends and colleagues to me.

I am quite pleasantly surprised of your opinions an thoughts, regarding Friedrich-Berthold and all of you as well, I recommend with all my heart, if ever you have the chance, visit any of Danube's 3 arm - I myself visited Saint George (Sfatul Gheorge in our tongue). If ever you decide I will guide you through the steps of a safe and pleasant ride in an amazing environment.

And yes we do have harsh winters (the guys further in the east have even more violent winters).
It's nice to visit an old building in Constanta, especially during winter : Cazinoul din Constan - It's called Constanta's Casino (Cazinoul din Constanta)

The drink Friedrich-Berthold reffers to is "Palincă" and yes it's quite good, it warms you up just right.
