Re: My first SS cufftitle... Hope its real!
I learned a long time ago that 6 strands were always suspect and this forum helped to concrete that belief, however , there has been some 6 strands CTs that are purported to be real but the lack of proper photographic evidence does'nt help, it would be of great help if there were definative examples, with your example shown i feel that the lack of quality in the stitching , the 6 strands and the general look of the wording is suspect, i would take Ade's advice and seek a refund

Re: My first SS cufftitle... Hope its real!
As has been stated by Red Cap and Ade HVS cuff titles were issued , BEVO only ( it refers only to SS Panzer Abt 11 of the Nordland Divison ) , due to the small size of the unit these cuff titles are not often found and if they are and they are correct they can sell for a large price , not unfortunately $200 !!

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Re: My first SS cufftitle... Hope its real!
I Guess it was too good to be true, oh well. Another learning expierence, I doubt I will be able to get the money back but i will not make the same foolish mistake again. Is the tag worth anything?
All the best,
Stefan

Re: My first SS cufftitle... Hope its real!
This has nothing to do with the authenticity or not of the cuff in question, but Heramnn von Salza was the Hochmeister (Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights) at Marienburg, 1210-1239. Here is a period painting of the man. Dwight
