I never say never but will try not to let things go that i may regret in the future.Trondk It was my mind and a few other reasons i was close to walking away from collecting.
Bochmann I went as far as i could with fv tabs i knew even if i could afford tabs like danmark frei korps or a indian legion tab the chance of finding them for sale is very slim to impossible indeed.
I'm nolonger Glum i have a new area to focus on i'm in the process of collecting examples of all different types of runic tabs that were produced.
Bochmann i'm not lucky enough to have been given and items direct from a vetran but if i were i too would keep them those type of items are a little more special.
Mark one of these days i will try to catch up with your runic collection.

Thanks for the comments on my other post re the collar tab, however, if you are now collecting runic tabs I will now have to declare you my mortal enemy and adopt the necessary shoot to kill protocol, should we ever meet. lol.

Thanks everyone.I lost interest in collecting foreign volunteer tabs because tabs such as this and a few other always seem unobtainable.Now i wish i still had all my foreign volunteer collection.Here is how it used to look a while ago.

Why are you so glum?
From what I can see a lot of these tabs are not that hard to obtain and if you focus, I am sure that in time you could rebuild your collection.
Will it be as good as the one that you had -maybe/maybe not?
Will you be able to obtain all of the volunteer tabs that there ever were - almost certainly not.
Will you get hit by a bus tomorrow - let's hope not ,but, as the saying goes, "if you don't try, you don't get.

I have sold my collection (such as it is) several times over but I have always kept at least one piece that I really liked, irrespective of it's monetary value and the only rule that I have never broken is that I have never sold items that were given to me direct from a vet.
If you want to return to collecting,then, "Good hunting"

Thanks Mark but i still have a long way to go.Bochmann your making life hard for me thats two people i'm competing with now.If i spy a runic for sale you will have to put me down with one shot,thanks for the wishes of good luck i will need it.
Nick i live about 20 mins walk from the ground,but never had a great interest in football if i did support them it sure would be a reason to be glum
