Hello Gentlemen and Colleagues..I am in need of some time line advice concerning a low number SS officer number seen here in this thread on the SS dagger forum.

    SS dagger(Emil schmitz?)

The issue I am seeing is that the SS nr 1847 had been stamped over a prexisiting number beneath the crossguard of an SS dagger...my concern is that this is a Rohm dagger that had been ordered ground down..after the Rohm purge...then the low number 1847 applied on top. I need some time line input on the number and the officer " Emil Schmidtz " shown on the Dienstalterliste shown in the thread. Im trying to figure out why this low number would be on this dagger that as owned by another SS Mann.

Im looking for timeline answers only to see what fits. It appears this SS mann was a leader. Your thoughts Gentleman would be grateful in solving this puzzle. Warm Regards Larry
