Need your help: SS Gruppe West tinnie

Hello Gentleman,
I am new to the group and I'm a novice collector/buyer. I have a very interesting shield that is in such good condition it makes me think it may be a reproduction. I tried to search for information on this item, but could not find anything on it, or another one online like it. Please take a look at the shield and give me your opinion if it is real, or a reproduction, and any information you could give me about it would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your feedback.

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum. I have found the same tinny for sale at this dealer's site.

German Third Reich Tinnies (1923-1934)

He has a terrible reputation for selling fakes, and I have a feeling your example is also bad. The patina looks forced and artificial to me. I am not sure if this type even existed in the period or not. There are specialists here that will be able to say with certainty one way or the other I am sure.

It is an original design ϟϟ Aufmarsch Abschitt X1 Gruppe West Frankfurt, however the one that is shown i don't think is original. I have seen and handled these a few times over the years, and careful scrutiny is always required, apart from an incorrect pin configuration, the eyes on the skull are much wider than the ones i have seen, it almost looks as if it's in shock! As with anything ϟϟ caveat emptor always be ϟuϟpicious
