I also quite like the obersturmbannfuhrer tab but I do not like the backing material, so it would not be for me.

I am quite prepared to admit that I could be completely wrong here as my judgement may be due to a lack of knowledge on my part, but, when you compare the first collar tab with those in post #3 (by FB) there is really "no contest" and, notwithstanding the difference in price, I would be happy to buy the latter tabs "all day long"

What I posted are the conventional norm, in its purest form as Proben.

Such notwithstanding, plainly there existed many variations.

The badge cloth is an issue, as as the Sternchen. There were many kinds of Sternchen, but I prefer the RZM ones as found on black uniforms because I collect such black uniforms.

These also include bronze or brass stars, too, in fact.
