Another single item from my first thread; one single D-letter collar tab.

It's a SS-Sturmbann Dachau collar , it stands a chance . But a more advanced SS collector should comment soon .

Based on the back, could this just have been a sloppy restoration via threads and stiffener?

I've removed the threads and the filler material, this how it looks on the inside. This tab used to be black... as if it was in a foldout state in a display for a while...

It seems noone wants to comment yet - and indeed there just aren't that many originals to compare to . I must admit I've never seen a reproduction of this one either .
That's just how totally obscure it is , and extremely RARE if original . Here's one in a picture of mr. Delich , from this thread

On the downside , yours was in very poor company of fake insignia .
Still for now , you may want to stop damaging it any further until you are sure ?!
