Re: Please, show your favourite SS item of **2008**
Thanks for the additional data. I have seen this 2d Mueller cap of yours before, in which some child scribbled or something. It has a KL 1938 stamp on the sweat band, which someone else in the firmament thought meant "concentration camp," but the KL in this case is the leather good maker. The Sonderanfertigung tag is an amusing touch, but the Wille cap of yours is a more nicely made piece of higher quality. I think these caps became more cheaply made as the SS expanded in 1938/9 and the regime tried to cut costs in the mass production of material for a larger organization. I think the early caps are more interesting by far, even if they lack all the stamps and tags and what not.
Thank you for sharing all your important treasures with us on this site. We admire your skill at finding these things, surely.
Happy holidays, FB

Re: Please, show your favourite SS item of **2008**
Congratulations. A nice war time cap with the high crown and the Overhoff Totenschaedel badge. Many of these caps have Overhoff badges.
I wonder if the Deschler firm got blown to smithereens at some point or they lost the contract for these tin baubles for making Hitler jokes in the air raid shelter or otherwise pissed off the Gauleiter there in Traditionsgau Muenchen-Oberbayern?
A nice cap of which you can be proud in a collapsing world.
Happy headwear.
