and I shall say this: a book has the signal merit that it does not so easily vanish, unlike so much of the dribs and drabs that dazzle us here.
My imac bit the dust on Christmas eve, and with it may have also vanished ten years of images and documents, which in a book can be eaten by rats, or fire, or swamped in a flood, but one hopes or knows that another volume survives. Less so with these computers and their short, painful life spans and messy deaths.

Since Friedrich-Berthold hasn't just posted a list of works, my guess is that he thinks others might not understand his hobby and think him in agreement with National Socialist ideas.
Why, thank you. None of us here is in agreement with national socialism, since this site eschews all such doctrines of hate and racism.
Our interest is in the past and its details, without an endorsement of the repugnant goals of the regime.

The style of cuffband as mentioned in post 1 was mentioned in an order from February 1931 from the RFSS
Himmler, as being introduced:
zur Kennzeichnung der Sturm- und Standartenangehörigkeit. In this order the system was explained. The color
for the edges was as green, I. Standarte; dark-blue II. Standarte; red III.Standarte; bright-blue IV. Standarte and
white as V. Standarte. The Sturm-number was included upon the black.
With a letter from March 1933 from the RFSS Himmler the system was changed and adapted while often the wrong
cuffband was worn.
Instead of Standarte it now was as for: green for Sturmbann I; dark-blue Sturmbann II; red Sturmbann III;
bright-blue Sturmbann IV; yellow Sturmbann V and white for Sturmbann VI. Upon the band the number for the
Sturm was shown, respectively the name of a person which was granted. In white for SS-men up to including
Haupt-Truppführer and silver for leaders. The in-depth system was further explained over two pages.
SS Price-list 1, as published in the Mitteilungsblatt der Reichszeugmeisterei at the end of 1934 mentions the many, many cuffbands.
