The inside of the cap looks brand new. That would be enough to put me off.
Did period SS caps with green inner visors even exist?
B.B.
The caps I have posted are of the type ca. 1938 and onward. These caps had reached a certain level of uniformity at this point and primarily are found today with the vulkanfibre peak. Leather peaks were used and many examples do survive, however, they are not as common and are, from the experience of more informed collectors, of an earlier point in the epoch before their use was ordered discontinued by Himmler. There are some informative threads that FB and a few other pillars of the community have created that delve deeper into this very subject and are worth the read. I have never encountered a genuine cap with a peak that had a green underside. As MAP has pointed out, the subject of the thread appears to be a re-enactment piece. To me, it sends a Rocky Horror Picture Show type of vibe.
Don’t be too put off by a mint example. Save for the pencil marking on the liner, this superb example appears as though it has never been worn.
