Reichsführung-SS cuff title

Mollo states in his book that the cuff title, introduced in 1939, "was to be worn by all officials of the RFSS regardless of department". However, the RFSS and the R.u.S.-Hauptamt cuff titles, at least, were worn well past 1939, as indicated by period photos. This has led me to believe that the cuff title was, in fact, intended only for the staff of the main offices created in 1939 and later. Is this a correct assumption? Mollo cites SS-Preisliste, April 1939, as his source, does anyone maybe have a copy of that?

Walter,
The Reichsfuehrung-SS title wasn't introduced until May, 1940. It certainly isn't listed in the 1939 price list. It replaced the aluminium titles with stripes indicating Amtchefs etc.

I remember other sources saying that it was introduced in 1940, but is most certainly didn't replace the Amtschefs' aluminium cuff titles.

On what do you base your statement that they "most certainly didn't replace the Amtschefs' aluminium cuff titles"?

On the fact that they can be seen in wear on numerous post-1940 photos. Besides, it simply wouldn't have made sense for the SS to abolish them. A new cuff title was needed because new main offices sprang up in 1939-1940, not because the aluminium stripes system was in any way outdated.

The fact that they may be seen being worn after the date of their withdrawal is indicative of individual action. It doesn't alter the fact that officially the Reichsfuehrung-SS title most certainly did replace them in May, 1940.

Order of 12 December 1939. Hauptamt Haushalt und Bauten 1/3 009. Berlin, den 10 May 1940.
d) Members of the SS-Hauptaemter des Reichsfuehrers-SS wear a cuff-band with the standardised inscription 'Reichsfuehrung-SS'. The cuff-bands for Amtchefs, Hauptamtschefs, Hauptabteilungsleiter, Abteilungsleiter and Referenten are hereby discontinued.
