Rottenführer chevron - help please!

Hi, I lifted these photos of an auction site, how does it look to better informed collectors than myself? The site description is:

WWII German SS Rottenfuhrer Rank Insignia, Unused, Original. Woven rayon diamond pattern tress chevrons machine sewn onto an inverted black wool base, with a heavy cloth backing. Has some very minor moth nipping on the wool on the front, and has a small triangular cut place on the top edge of the wool. Condition Very Good Plus.

It could be either SS or Heer panzer. This one looks fine to me. If you get it, you can pretty much decide whatever you want it to be.
