I am certain this thread has more info on the SS-Fliegerstürme on an English site than anywhere else.

I'll second that.

It's a downright obscure subject on which very little information is available in the secondary literature.

I, for one, found a lot of new (to me) information in the period documents d'alquen has provided for this thread.
