really need yours estimations on this sad,salty ss helm cover...poor condition...with ugly restoration work...(what for? )

SS first model cover post it over to German Helmet Wallaha there are a lot of SS experts over there like DouG B that can tell you if it is original issue or post war made from shelter quarter. Or just what. timothy

I don,t trust this thing because why in the hell sombody will repart it so ugly?I think they done this to look it more used and to look like verry old .

It is a bad one, the clips should have a circular aperture at the top of the slot for the moving hook part. Probably made from an old zelt and then trashed and badly repaired to fool those without any experience IMHO.

True Jerry B I know Doug is a moderator here What I was getting at there are a lot of big collection SS specialists there and there is a whole thread on SS covers over there they quickly identified a 1970;s original shelter quarter remake I had and other collectors even showed me pictures of the ones they had just like it. Lot of SS knowledge there course not to take away from here is also. I don't usually mess with SS for the above reason burned on lots of it as early as 1973 or comment on it. That helmet cover was the only ss item I have. timothy
