Although Bruce and I have been speaking lately, I feel someone who is a true friend of his should inform him of this discovery. I'd hate to see one of the few good dealers IMO image be soured over this.

Guys in the world of photo collecting we are now used to this type of thing , album strippers have been doing this for years ,destroying the personal history of individuals from the war generation !!

As has been said the individual sale of photos makes more than the album would have done if left whole and intact .

If I may sound a note of dissent in the midst of this digital outrage, why is the Wehrmacht Awards Forum a credible source here on this forum? Are we subordinate to them in some manner that operates here? I, myself, immediately assign little credence to many assertions made there and know that many of the officials here share my skepticism.

In the second piece, the mutilation of uniforms has been going on by collectors and dealers as long as I have collected, which is more or less forty seven years.

A stripped tunic was said to have been carefully restored and then was recently sold and has been cut to pieces and sold as cut offs. If this is true I am shocked at this fakery and wanton act of vandalism.

Do let me suggest that you address your concern directly to this person who advertised the material and report back to us your results.

He is a friend of mine, as is well known, and I am sure he will be at pains to address your concerns in a judicious manner.

You'd have thought they would of done a better job cutting it up. What did they use...a butter knife???
Maybe it's to simulate something cut off in the field with, in fact, a dull combat knife...
