Problem is, there are many correct ones, in different fabrics and blends, which bear no tag at all.

Some examples. All these images already exist on this, site by the way. The paper tag variety is also found, of course. these have been faked well since the end of the 1960s. More so today, in fact.
thats correct klinger. i have a real one and the tag is a small black material one and not paper. mine has the numbers , 16/36 with the rzm and ss on either side
Paper tags were used after mid 1938 or so and are frequently found and sometimes quite real. Let no one think that paper tags are fake here. I just always copied the cloth tags as my interest runs to the earlier regalia.
Correct, of course. Paper tags on brassards, cufftitles and else were vulnerable to most any cleaning process, unfortunately; untold numbers have been lost.
To me it looks original and mint one with the correct tag
