Here is an alloy SS Belt buckle.
Made under the SS contract number 822/38. The maker is not known.
I bought this about 30 years ago for £15.
Cheers, Ade.

Hi Ben, thanks for that bit of info.
I had once read about the now discredited theory that they were made by CTD. But I had not heard of this new candidate.
Cheers, Ade.
Hi Ade, no mate CDT is now proven to have made 257 numbered SS buckles (officers) and not the 822. If you keep checking the SS makers thread I keep that up to date anyway mate

Very Interesting. My friend has the same 822 buckles, two of them is made the same year as your Ade, but the stamps and details are different, but both is original, one is absolutely the same as your Ade, but another has thinner type SS 822/38 Rzm stamp and face part is also different....
There are two variants of that buckle Dimas, I will look in my picture library when I get home and post pics of the other variant
Ben
Ade I bet you wish you had bought more at the time lol
Hi Mike, the worrying thing is I used to wear this for re-enactment!
Cheers, Ade.
