SS BEVO totenkopf skull tropical fake or real?

I just ordered this one from Jim @ Jim's Militaria Collection! I'm not an SS guy but every collection needs a totenkopf either in cloth or metal. Jim has 2 left that appear to be from the same roll as the one I ordered.

I just got my tropical totenkopf. Are they supposed to be almost metallic in appearance? Maybe the photo don't capture it but in the light at certain angles my example is very shiny.

Its a nice one, no need to worry. Since these patches were never issued I would expect the thread to stay shiny, also if it was stored well overtime.

I knew my example matched up perfectly in design right down to the most trivial detail to not only the others in this thread but also in one of the reference books I have. The almost metallic thread threw me off because photos simply don't capture it and I've never seen 1 in person until now so photos were my only point of reference. Perfect excuse to get out there & actually go to some shows! The only German militaria I have seen in person is whatever is in my collection!
