By the way if anyone ever comes across an SS-ZA pin with either of these two issue numbers, 80 818 or 81 682, I would be very keen to buy them.
Cheers, Ade.

As Ade wrote above, original SS-ZA pins were produced by only two firms, Gahr (with silver content) and Hoffstater (w/out silver content), had no RZM marking, had knurled pins sometimes with spring retainers on them and were marked with the consecutive number of issue from the SS Personel Office (not wtih the SS member serial number). The pictures of the one you posted are simply too poor to be able to make an assessment.
Double click on the pics of the pin in question. They will enlarge. You will be left in no doubt at all. It is horrific.

By the way, telling a Gahr made pin vs a Hoffstätter is easy from the front alone. A Gahr made pin will have a wider outer silver edge circle around the runes compared to the other maker.

Woof! With that enlargement, the thing is downright ugly. What a dog.

Here is an old thread where forum member Jim shows a couple of original Hoffstätter's:
SS stickpin fake or original?
Note the thinner outer ring.

SS pins should NEVER be RZM marked!
I forgot to mention that the pin that started this thread is 100% fake.
You own an original don't you Erich Don't be shy
