I bought these from a old military collector he swears they are real. Would appreciate a second opinion.

I'm pretty young but wanting to get well rounded in original WW2 Collecting. Its a real shame to come across older gentlemen who claim to know there stuff selling fakes. If any of you experts are willing to point the younger generation in the right direction on knowing what is real, please it will not be in vain. It sickens me to think the world is flooded with fake garbage being sold high priced as real. As the older generation dies off its going to be harder for the young collector to learn. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
In my opinion they are both fake. But I am not a real expert on SS items.
The tab on the right is very bad indeed. It has a Heer (Army) Panzer collar tab deathshead mounted to an SS Officers style tab.
The runic tab is also bad.
Buy books first, visit shows to handle both good and bad material, touch, feel, smell it. Save pics to files of good items. Learn your craft, then finally buy items from trusted dealers who offer a meaningful money back guarantee. Show the items on the forum too.
Don't look for bargain items, you will be wasting you time. The sharks are out there and will take your hard earnt money. Most would sell their Grandmothers if they could!
Cheers, Ade.
Thank you I appreciate the information. I will apply this wisdom to my life and learn. Its a real shame that there is so many sharks selling junk.
Go and get your money back...............
Regards,
Steve.
