SS Dolmetscher cuff title

Hi Guys, again another gem to show you. Again from the Int Corps Museum. Most, if not all, of the items shown have direct provenance to 1944-45.

This is the rarely seen SS interpreter's cuff title.

I will show you just the front first, as the back holds a little surprise.

Who would have expected purple cloth to reinforce the stitching!

Ade, here is nothing strange on the backing, there some reasons- the backing material can vary in color, due of it's only reinforcement and only for stitching work

but I though it made a nice surprise!

Here is another an interesting one but on the reverse of an Officer's quailty "GD" cuff title. Not SS I know.

Great piece Ade , where is the Int Corps museum ? it looks like the int types brought back a good collection.

It is within the active base at Chicksands, Beds. You cannot simply turn up. I had to help cataloge the collection. Dinner in the Officers Mess which is a 12th Century Priory. How the other half live

They have some quality stuff.

Maybe the purple backing cloth is remnants from Chaplain's insignia

This is why we have to fight to keep this site operating as a place that attracts this kind of thing versus the other site, where such luminaries as Lumsden and Yerger are opting out in view of the Lord of the Flies ambiance that operates there. Thanks to Ade for his wise leadership and offering us remarkable things to admire and reflect upon.

The fact is that we all do not know really as much as we think, and the parade of discoveries here is exciting and significant.
