It's allready comented. Strange thing that most of them are pretty cheap, they are being sold for the price for insignia cost

The insignia are sure 100% original, the fez too but is that possible that the sweatband has been renewed?

100% period construction including the sweatband. this is an unissued example from the store rooms at Dachau.

Handschar items in Western collections all came from the Dachau stores as Western troops had no contact with this unit. The fezes were found bailed in stacks and were used by many U S soldiers to hold the insignia they took from the bins. You will also note that this example is unissued as are the examples found in most collections. I have only encountered one issued and worn fez in my years of collecting.
