SS Field Marshal Baton? Real or fantasy piece?

Article about: WWII German Reinhard Heydrich SS Marshallstab I know WW2Sale is a shady place to buy from but is there any recorded time where a SS officer was awarded a baton as shown above?

As has been said above, a fantasy piece.

Apart from the 20 April 1946 date, it is also worth noting that the recipient's name on it is actually "Dietrich", not "Heydrich".

Apparently, the designer of this piece was inspired by the unconfirmed rumors that Hitler had intended to promote Sepp Dietrich to the newly-created, unique rank of SS-Volksmarschall should the Ardennes Offensive turn out victorious. Needless to say, neither the victory nor the promotion nor the rank as such ever became a reality.

This "what-if" design is actually not uninteresting. (Although its execution is nowhere near the quality of a real Marshal's baton.)

Be that as it may, the items on that site are not offered as genuine; they are expressly sold as replica items for re-enactors and such. Look at the text at the bottom of that page WWII German Reinhard Heydrich SS Marshallstab:

"Complete range of Military Uniforms, Insignia and Equipment offered by WW2sale.COM are to replicate and reproduce all your uniforms and militaria needs. A must for living history and reenactment groups. Our site is not meant to be a political statement or suggest sympathy or agreement with any radical or racist organizations. All our Military Replica are ONLY For Re-enactors, Enthusiasts, Collectors, Historical Organizations And Theatrical Purposes."

The "real or not question" is quite moot.

Thanks for the useful intervention in what is otherwise a very odd thread.

Oh...Nice! I was Just going to write the guy and make him a big offer on it, and Now everyone will be seeing it and wanting to grab it....
Tranquilo Tranquilo, i just talked with him, and behold we are in a bit of luck. The seller has contact with a Pal with the name Snyder, and this fellow has three of these very very rare SS prototypes- AND a couple of Evas undies. Soooo if we send a order together, we will also get three pairs of Evas wellworn and stained undies included FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE...
