The collar patch emblem in picture no. 6 is definitely an EdelweiƟ flower design, but it looks different from other known examples of the collar patch as used by the 87th SS-Standarte and the XXXVIth SS-Abschnitt. Actually, I wonder if this could be a metal version.
Andrew Mollo illustrates what appears to a metal version in Vol. I of his "Uniforms of the SS" series and below is a comparison with an example that was discussed on one of the other forums; if I recall correctly, no definitive judgment was found on whether it was genuine or not. (Please note that I do not own this item.)
The Edelweiss, worn in this picture and seen with the patch, is the official RAD form.
The obverse form was introduced July 12, 1938 and was to be worn with the RAD
"Robin Hood"-cap in all Austrian RAD-districts. In later years the flower was turned
the other way around and was worn as such since about 1939.

Here some images from volume 5 from the series "Headgear of Hitler's Germany"

and yes, the expression "Fuss" was also in use within the SA. See enclosed copy
from a part of a regulation, as published in the "Verordnungsblatt der OSAF" from
July 1, 1939 in relation with the changing for insignia.

The collar patch with an embroidered grey edelweiss shown in post #10 is for the SS-Sammellstelle (as illustrated in Martin's fine portrait).
By the time the 87th Standarte were incorporated back into the SS after the Anschluss all patch embroidery was aluminium, as in Robert's exemplary diamond and the group of patches shown in post #4.
Also in post #4, the early metal edelweiss shown being worn was the insignia of the 37th Standarte.
