I don't really think it would make too big of a difference , a ribbon , or a couple of awards .
The bright red ribbon wouldn't make a nice, center mass bullseye?

    Thumbs up

Here is my mint 4 pocket, I have the matching pants. Got them from the vet, along with an SS helmet back in about 1965. Unfortunately I don't think I ever took photos of the marking on the inside, at least I don't find them. Guess I should do that! Both pieces are nicely marked.

With all the equipment worn into combat , mostly black leather . A little red ribbon isn't that big of a deal , red is used in many camouflages . And the Germans wore there medals in combat , many great photos show that practice . Many had jewellers copies made of higher awards so the originals wouldn't get lost in combat .

    Cheers Chris

Nice Tunic Sarge, yours has the Eagle and collar tabs but no Shoulder buttons i think theses was the later ones, some soldiers added the insinga even though they was not meant to.
Looks really good with the SS Collar tabs.

True Chris a lot of tigers had yellow base with green and brown/red camo patterns, seems alot did wear them into battel
