near me there is an old cottonmill thats full of little antique units, i called in this morning and a bricabrac dealer had bought this in on thursday from the vets family who walked in with it, the vet was a major in the RA and lived in stockport,the family gave his bd and medals to a museum,theres even a military dealer in the mill and he never saw it

theres piles of paperwork but i havent even had a real good look at it all yet,been to busy playing with the tr bits

Pity about he BD and medals as i have no doubt they will go into a store cupboard to gather dust and never see the light of day , that's my experience with museums anyway.

just had a quick look at the paperwork, he appears to have been an adjutant , he was also stationed at an internment camp in 46 so possibly this is where he picked up his war booty, its sad about the bd and medals but maybe that was his wishes,thanks again Dave
