    I find these garish and ugly too - I think that Himmler knew that Germany was going to lose and made these badges for the up and coming biker market after the war!

    I agree FB - Mona Lisa probably had that grin because she had a kind of "sexual power" over old Leonardo, whereas HH had accrued power over a whole nation state.

    I always think the same when F-B posts this particular image of him, he looks like friendly Onkel Heini with that mischevious smile.

    That aside, are there any period photographic images of these dress badges being worn?
