Our very own d'Alquen posted an extract from RZM specifications on cloth items to the effect that a plus or minus 5 percent was permitted.

Our readers should also deepen themselves in the kinds of how to books for the manufacture of uniforms and equipment and the method of same.

See enclosure of a remarkable book on the making of headwear.

An early tab such as this likely predates the regulations set by the RZM. An experienced eye can recognize an original tabs by the material used and how the runes are hand applied. On any hand made items, slight variations may occur from worker to worker.
Such variances would be considered within tolerance.

I have surely seen examples of black SS uniforms where the collar patches were made by the tailor of the fabric of the tunic, itself. I am not sure these badges correspond to the "specifications" enumerated above as to insignia made for RZM contract according to RFSS specifications.

But I do not want to split hairs endlessly.

My point, which is an old one, is that too many believe that there existed a sole standard for this regalia somewhat akin to the manner in which today's McDonald's makes french fries....or appears to, perhaps I should write.

I do not want to beat a dead horse, but the point remains valid for those who are new to these spaces.

The insignia of Dimas and Bob H. are quite appealing.
