Hello,
here one of my Visor Cap.
Hello,
here one of my Visor Cap.
Even if that were the only piece you owned, you could still accurately say, "I have a magnificent SS collection."
Well done. A very handsome, honest piece. Also, do look at the crown piping of the cap cover and its general appearance. In my limited experience, the fakers can never duplicate this shape and general arrangement properly. Wilkins points out that the crown piping was the work of a master (not an apprentice or some less skilled figure...). Such shows on this piece. Also note the color of the cap cover, too, which one should compare to certain other examples included on this site. I would not want to say there was a single shade of field grey, since we all know that field grey fits into a pretty wide range. However, this cap is a very strong example of its genre.
Congratulations to its owner.
The thing is also not "stone mint," either, which I think speaks really for it. The search for un used pieces opens up a Pandora's box for the hapless collector. Do compare this piece to those on Shea and Stezelberger's sites, as well as those on the Whamond site.

Wonderful!
Thanks ace and Robin.
What a wonderful hat. I would go perfectly with my Wiking tunic, of the same material.
