Nothing wrong about It
Hi
no one said its a buckram, just a precaution
C. Betz on the WAF thread claims buckram backing is a red flag.
How can they know the buckram is a problem, there's a lot of different buckrams used on SS tabs and heer tabs. I have 2 from this type of SS Tab that came with different buckrams. I will post them later.
Sid,
Is this the same type as those which are for sale in the classifieds?

Well I have the same Dachau style tabs for sale indeed.
Here's a comparison of two of the same style with one with the more "known" buckram and another one. As you see they are identical, o.k the one is more "perfect" than the second but that's a sticking issue, they can't be all 100% identical.
The measurement and proportions are correct.
The typical (Dachau) stitching line on the back are also both symetrical, so you know that It's been made under the same machines.
The only "red flag" I see, is that the tab that started this thread was not properly photographed, that's all.

It would be nice to see this discussed in a little more depth. For an outsider in SS collecting such as myself I wonder why one forum declares it good and another forum declares it bad.
Surely there must be some crossover between the two forums. Why is it good? Why is it bad?

Well done Nick, there are two saying it's a fake so it will be interesting to hear their reasons vs the reasons from members here.
